MEDICAL HOMES

In 2018, together with a Turkish Charity "Anything for A Smile," we opened two homes for Syrian refugees with urgent medical situations in Adana, a primary refugee hub that receives critical medical cases from Syria.

These homes provide a healthy environment for up to 200 children per year battling cancer and other serious illnesses and their caretakers.

Children and their caregivers who come to Adana from Syria face enormous challenges, due to lack of finances, inadequate housing options, and lack of familiarity with the Turkish language and the medical system. Approximately 150–200 children (aged 0–15) and their caretakers are accommodated at our Smile Homes each year, which are dedicated to addressing both their medical needs and overall well-being during treatment.

The services they provide are critical, as previously many of these vulnerable children resided in substandard housing. Our program ensures that young patients can focus on their recovery in a safe environment.

We put great effort into making these homes child-friendly so the children can have a better healing experience. Many of our residents live in tent cities in Syria and travel to Turkey for medical care.
